Aggregate stability and soil surface sealing in irrigated soils under no‐tillage versus conventional tillage

چکیده
The effect of no-tillage (NT) vs. conventional tillage (CT) has been evaluated in rainfed conditions but seldom studied under irrigation, where soil sealing favour degradation. To contribute to this knwledge, research analyses aggregate stability disaggregation forces produced irrigation (slaking and mechanical breakdown) the susceptibility soils cropped with irrigated maize. Soils were sampled from 0-2 0-5 cm before maize planting. Soil against both processes was expressed by mean weight diameter (MWD). organic carbon (SOC) aggregates different size fractions remained after processes. suscetibility characterized saturated hydraulic conductivity. results confirmed high disruption slaking breakdown MWD those up 50% smaller seal about three times higher CT than NT. top layer showed an 30% layer, which could be due surface caused drop impact. Greater MWDs related SOC values aggregates, 20% NT CT. Thus, represents effective management soils, reducing helping maintain greater impact wetting This article is protected copyright. effect of aggregate stability indices on wheat yield in a soil with high specific surface under different tillage methods
effects of different tillage systems on dispersion ratio, status of aggregation, degree of aggregation, mean weight diameter, geometric diameter, the rain-fed wheat yield and the yield components were investigated by a field trial using a completely randomized block design with five treatments in four replicates during 2009-2010 growing season at gorgan university of agricultural science and na...
متن کاملTillage impacts on aggregate stability and crop productivity in a clay-loam soil in central Iran
To take advantage of conservation tillage systems (including direct drilling and non-inversion) in central Iran, it is important to study the effects of different cultivation practices on soil structural stability as a physical indicator. A four-year study was conducted to investigate the effects of seven tillage systems on aggregate properties of a clay-loam soil (Calcic Cambisol) with continu...

The popularity of reduced-tillage cropping systems has emphasized the need to determine if maize (Zea mays L.) developed under conventional tillage systems (moldboard plow, disk, and harrow) is readily adaptable to conservation production syst...
متن کاملAggregate size distribution in a biochar-amended tropical Ultisol under conventional hand-hoe tillage
Biochar (or pyrogenic organic matter) is increasingly proposed as a soil amendment for improving fertility, carbon sequestration and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. However, little is known about its effects on aggregation, an important indicator of soil quality and functioning. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of Eucalyptus wood biochar (B, pyrolyzed at 550 °C, at 0 or 2.5...
